Our Swansea & District Local Group played a key part in the hugely successful international City Nature Challenge in late April and early May, leading guided walks and supporting bat and moth surveys. This four-day global bioblitz is a fantastic chance for people to connect with the nature on their doorstep.

During the annual global citizen-science event surveying urban wildlife, more than 66,000 participants from 482 cities recorded 1.8 million observations of more than 57,000 species worldwide. Together with Swansea residents who joined in, they spotted a host of birds including Dippers, Marsh Tits, Treecreepers and Tawny Owls as well as moths including Brindled Pug, Silver Y and Red-green Carpet.
