About

As a member of the RSPB you get The RSPB Magazine four times a year and you can opt in to receive access to this digital version. On this website you’ll find the latest news and features on the birds, wildlife and wild places we’re working together to protect.

Knock-out photos of nature scampering, scuttling, diving and fluttering get you closer to the birds and other wildlife you know, and some you might not. Elsewhere get the latest on the conservation work we’re doing thanks to our members support, or read up on how the RSPB is taking action for nature, and how you can fight for our natural world too.

Wise words from regarded columnists such as Beccy Speight, Nicola Chester, Simon Barnes and David Lindo make you pause for thought, while expert guides to our nature reserves give you the inspiration to get out and explore.

Your digital version means you’ll get video and sound to see and hear the wildlife highlights you’re reading about, and you can zoom in to get the text and pictures the best size for you. Plus, you’ll get bonus digital-only content and you can enjoy exclusive discounts in the RSPB shop and with our partner organisations.

FAQS

I don’t remember signing up for this, what it is?

A few months ago, we invited a small group of members to take up the offer of a digital version of The RSPB Magazine. You opted to receive your magazine digitally instead of in print, so instead of receiving a print magazine quarterly, you’ll now receive an email once a month with a link to this website which contains all the latest stories from the magazine. On top of that, there will be additional exclusive content for members who have signed up for this digital experience.

Why is the RSPB moving to a digital magazine?

A recent survey suggested 37% of RSPB members would like to receive their copy of The RSPB Magazine digitally. So, by providing the choice, we are giving members a better way of keeping in touch and reading their seasonal updates on birds and nature. By choosing digital instead of print, you’re also helping the RSPB reduce its carbon emissions.

Will you still print a hard copy of the magazine?

We know that many members value their printed copies of The RSPB Magazine so we are currently offering members the choice between print or digital.

Can it be accessed at any time? Can I check back in on it and re-read the articles?

Yes, the digital magazine can be accessed at any time and you will be able to keep up-to-date with the content from past issues. You can bookmark www.members.rspb.org.uk to check back.

Can I switch back to the printed version at any time? I didn’t mean to switch to a digital magazine. How do I update my preferences?

We know that many members value their printed copies of The RSPB Magazine, so we are currently offering members the choice between print or digital. If you choose the digital version and wish to change your choice at a later date and opt back in to receiving The RSPB Magazine by post, all you have to do is email your request to membership@rspb.org.uk and our team will be happy to update your record.

I can’t find my favourite regular column from the magazine?

You can use the search bar at the top right of the website to enter key words such as a nature reserve name or a particular species. You can also navigate around the website by using the section headings at the top and reading relevant suggested articles after you’ve scrolled to the bottom of each page.

Will there be new articles to read and videos to watch?

Yes! The benefit of the digital magazine is we’re not so limited on space, so we can include more articles about birds and wildlife, as well as videos and possibly even podcasts.

Does this replace the main RSPB website?

www.rspb.org.uk will also be updated with a new look but it is still the main website for the RSPB, whereas this website is exclusively for your members’ magazine. You can still access information about the RSPB, bird ID and the usual news and updates on our main website.

I’m having trouble viewing a page on the RSPB’s main website www.rspb.org.uk

We recently launched a brand new website in addition to the digital version of The RSPB Magazine. If you have noticed a problem please let us know at rspbmagazine@rspb.org.uk.

I have a joint membership. Can we both receive the email each month?

We’re in the early stages of the roll out of the digital version of The RSPB Magazine and unfortunately this is not currently possible, so the notification will only be sent to the primary contact of the membership. This is something we’re working on and hope to have this ability in the future.

What about other print magazines?

By opting in to receive The RSPB Magazine digitally, you haven’t changed any of your preferences relating to other printed materials. If you or your family receive other magazines from the RSPB, such as RSPB Life or the children’s magazines, these won’t be affected.

How can I send in feedback or ask a question?

This is your members’ magazine and we want it to be something you enjoy reading that also keeps you up-to-date with the RSPB conservation work and campaigning. We would love to hear your feedback or suggestions for how to improve it in the future. Please send us an email at RSPBmagazine@rspb.org.uk

Will there be a PDF Version? Or will it only be available on a website?

If you’d prefer to enjoy your magazine by browsing through the pages, try reading or downloading this page-turning flipbook version of The RSPB Magazine. Please note that this will not contain the additional features, videos, audio and interactive articles that you’ll find as part of your digital RSPB magazine.
