This is a recording of a webinar for RSPB supporters which took place on Thursday 4 January 2024.

Ruffled by Ruff? Not a clue about Knot? This is a fantastic time of year to get to know waders, those (often) long-legged birds of coast, marsh and farmland. With their numbers boosted by visitors from the frozen north, waders can put on spectacular shows as flocks whirl across the shoreline.

In this free online event for RSPB members we take you through a range of common wader species before moving on to some that you might be lucky to see during the colder months.

Find out what waders need and how the RSPB is working to ensure they have the food, habitat and protection they need to survive the winter.
